Join us for the first in a series of talks by ground breaking contemporary artists and curators. Artist, curator and Broward College professor Lisa Rockford’s talk “The Aesthetics of Gender in Contemporary Art” will present work and ideas by artists who explore the concept of gender and its meaning and relevance in the 21st century. Rockford, who received her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL will also speak about curating her upcoming show at the 1310 Gallery in Fort Lauderdale titled “Appropriated Gender”. The show, which will exhibit the work of over 40 local and national artists is free and open to the public starting Sept. 15th.
